Why regular roof cleaning & moss removal matters in Crowborough
Crowborough sits high on Ashdown Forest, so pine needles and heavy leaf fall fill gutters and moss thrives on shaded roofs.
We work on large detached homes on wooded plots and 1960s–80s houses across Crowborough. Our team checks the access and the condition of the surfaces before starting, so you know what the clean involves and what it will cost.
How our roof cleaning & moss removal in Crowborough works
1
Moss is scraped back by hand or with controlled low-pressure tools — never a high-pressure lance, which strips the protective granules from tiles.
2
The roof is softwashed to lift lichen staining and algae, with gutters cleared of the fallen debris afterwards.
3
A biocide treatment is applied to slow regrowth, and we tell you honestly when a roof simply needs a repair instead.
Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal in Crowborough: FAQs
Is pressure washing safe for roofs in Crowborough?
We don't pressure wash roofs. On large detached homes on wooded plots and 1960s–80s houses around Crowborough that would shorten tile life considerably, so we scrape and softwash instead.
How long before the moss comes back?
With the biocide treatment applied, most roofs stay visibly clear for three to five years depending on tree cover and how much shade the slope gets.
How much does roof cleaning & moss removal cost in Crowborough?
Prices depend on the size and access of the property. Use the instant quote form at the top of this page for a Crowborough price, or call 07337 738327.
Which day do you work in Crowborough?

Yes. We are fully insured and Checkatrade vetted, and we provide before-and-after photos on every Crowborough job.
